Les Charmes is not a very big campsite. 100 pitches on 5 hectares in a unique area surrounded by nature with all kind of services to spent a great holiday with the whole family!

Indoor swimming-pool with toddlers pool, outside pool with comfortable sun loungers and slides! With the choice of an indoor swimming pool you can have fun whatever the weather. The children will love it and so will you!

During the low season, if the temperatures are still cool, only the indoor heated pool will be open.

You can borrow rackets and balls from reception.

Try doubles or singles.

Children will enjoy playing in our playground. For the very young there is a special area on our terrace.

Real French ‘sports’!

There is a little shop at the campsite with basic necessities, very handy!

Every day you can order your bread for the next day.

Canoe trips

You can make beautiful canoe trips in the vicinity of the campsite on 2 rivers: the Dordogne or the Vézère. Two very different rivers with different environments. The choice depends on your interest. At both rivers there is no strong flow, the ride is in calm water so without risk. You can book at the reception at the campsite (with a small discount). We work with reliable canoe companies. Take time to enjoy, take a picnic and of course swimwear! There are many places where there is almost no flow so where you can cool down in the water ! From 5 years!

Hiking and (sporting) cycling routes

From the campsite there are several hiking and cycling possibilities. We have posted a number of routes, such as a walk of +/- 12 km. to the Cabanes du Breuil, a stone-built XVe century village to be visited. You can obtain these at the reception.

We would also like to advise you about visiting caves, castles and culinary visits such as a wine cellar, nut oil maker, or in stead of eating in one of the many tourist restaurants, try one of the Ferme Auberges where they serve local products and regional specialties from the serving farm produce.

The sanitary block is located in the center of the campsite ; It includes toilets, shower cabins, sink cabins, washing machine and laundry tubs, at the ‘womens side’ an ironing board (iron on loan at reception), a baby area and a cabin for people with disabilities.

You can have takeaway pizzas and fries.

During the period from the 6th of April to the 6th of July and from the 31st of August, our restaurant is not yet open. However, we offer the possibility of picking up pizzas, fries and chicken nuggets. During the reception opening hours you can enjoy a drink on our terrace, a nice ice cream jug or a cup of coffee.

From the 6th of July, the kitchen of the restaurant is open from 18:00 to 21:30 except on Monday. You can have a meal in our restaurant or on the terrace with its breathtaking view. You can choose a local dish, a fresh salad or a pizza, or you can have a glass of wine or an ice-cream! Picking up pizzas, fries and chicken nuggets is possible from 18:00 to 21:30 every evening, on Mondays we close at 21:00.

In our restaurant you will find a bookcase where you can borrow books and magazines.

Free Wifi access is avaiable at reception / restaurant and terrasse.

We hire fridges; the price is 6€ per day. On arrival we ask for a deposit of 50 € which we will refund when you return the fridge.

You can hire a high chair and a cot. You just have to bring bedding for the cot. Please reserve in advance. The price is 2,50€ per night.

You can hire bed linen. It will save you space in the car! The price is 10€ per person; please reserve in advance.

For your holiday washing we have a machine in our sanitary which takes coins. The universal washing powder is included in the price. An ironing board and iron (which can be obtained at the reception desk) is also available.

Surroundings

Bathing

The pool of the campsite is great but maybe you want to know other nice places to refresh yourself. In the river or in a lake, we share with pleasure the best places !

La Voie-verte

What's more beautiful than discovering the Dordogne by bike ? Enjoy the peace of the Voie-Verte of Sarlat, the bike path without car traffic. On this very flat, shady route along the Dordogne River there are possibilities for taking a picnic break or lunch. Visit one of the little villages that cross the route or take a refreshing dip in the river ! Bicycle rental from Voie Verte, free parking.

Sarlat

Sarlat, the capital of Périgord Noir, the most beautiful and known part of the Dordogne. At the height of the summer season, Sarlat comes alive with its street theatre. Towards evening, before the setting of the sun, people gather to watch the street artists perform. They fill the narrow lanes and squares of this historic city, as the soft light of the gas lamps come on transforming Sarlat into a magical place.

Saint André d’Allas

Saint-André-Allas has been occupied since the dawn of humanity. The prehistoric settlement of the area was revealed in 1911 with the discovery of several prehistoric burial sites within the rock shelter of Pas Estret along the road between Sarlat and Les Eyzies. The village also includes a village of dry stone huts in an exceptional state of preservation. The roofs and vaults of these structures were remarkably well-built, enabling them to stand up to the test of time. The modest interiors of these buildings reveal the aesthetic beauty and art de vivre cultivated by local peasants in spite of their rudimentary farming lifestyle. It is by ordinance of the King of France of 8 June 1825 that the commune of Allas l'Evêque is joined to that of Saint-André to form a single commune under the name of Saint-André-Allas.

Beynac-et-Cazenac

This village, built on the cliffs along the Dordogne River, is today listed among the 'Most Beautiful Villages of France'. The river, village and castle form the triad has always made Beynac so special. With its unique character, Beynac castle is one of the best-preserved and most renowned of the region. This 12th-century medieval building towers over the Dordogne River and overlooks the village, built up on its right bank.
